Terry McGuirt was born in Tyler, Texas.  He grew up in Tyler, Shreveport, Louisiana and in and around Beaumont, Texas.  He attended Lamar University in Beaumont.  Terry is a self-taught artist who became interested in lifecasting in the late 1990s.  He began doing simple plaster castings of faces and hands, then quickly moved on to more complex and detailed lifecastings of the human form.  Terry was drawn to lifecasting by its unique ability to capture a precise moment in time, and he seeks to create that same sense in his own work. His work has been shown in several local exhibits, including the Plano Art Association 2004 Members Show, where his piece "Migraine" won 1st place in the 3-dimensional category.  He is a charter member of the Association of Lifecasters International, as well as a member of the Plano Art Association, the Visual Arts Coalition of Dallas and the Visual Arts Society of Texas.
